Principals and Co-Founders

Kimberlee Young

Kimberlee's biggest passions are her family, wine, teaching and the wine country. For the last 16 years Kimberlee has pursued her love of wine, food and traveling through her career and personal life. Her extensive travels include visiting wineries and vineyards in California, Oregon and many other regions. She has worked in almost all aspects of the wine business, but especially loves hosting corporate team building events, group tasting's and food and wine pairing dinners. She is dedicated to helping pass her knowledge to others as well as ensuring that everyone has an exciting time while they learn. Her motto is "educate, entice, enlighten and entertain!"

She has traveled the wine regions thoroughly, attended wine industry tasting's for the last 16 years, spoken professionally on various aspects of the wine business, taught many wine education classes and has conducted hundreds of wine tasting's. She founded Travels In Wine Tours in order to combine her professional experience and knowledge with her passion for wine and her desire to share these experiences with others. Her love for wine is infectious and with Kimberlee as your host you will not only taste wine with a Sommelier but make a friend for a lifetime.

Kimberlee is a graduate of the International Sommelier Guild, and is currently waiting to take her advanced level certification through the Court of Masters. Concurrently, she is also studying to take her wine educator's degree through the Society of Wine Educators. Kimberlee has sat on two national wine trade panels. She has been featured in numerous newspaper and magazine articles and founded a non-profit organization for women who want to learn more about wine. Kimberlee was also named "Sommelier of the Month" in October 2005 through the International Sommelier Guild.

Derek F. Schuler

With 18 years of corporate experience, mainly in the telecommunications industry, Derek has acquired many skills and knowledge essential to Travels In Wine Tours. This includes a strong customer focus and expertise in marketing, sales and relationship management. He has exceptional appreciation for personalized service and an unsurpassed attention to details. Derek takes great pride in making each of his guest experience a lasting memory and one that is tailored to their individual needs. His own travel experience has taught him that a good bottle of wine paired with an exquisite meal, and presented with gracious hospitality creates a memorable journey.

With his engaging personality, refined skills and creative energy, Derek heads up the tour logistics, marketing, travel research and his personal favorite ingredient: the golf outings."Tasting and teeing it up: Its a combination that just makes sense," says Derek, "and one that's catching on fast." He created Travels In Wine Tours to give people who love wine as much as they love golf  the chance to do both, and to blend his talents, passions and adventurous spirit all into one endeavor.
